Passed away on April 12, 2015 at Markham Stouffville Hospital after a brave fight and with his wife by his side. He will be cherished by his loving wife Julie, and children Tania (Giustino), Tessa (Alim), Sasha (Dinis), and Simona (Paul). Proud and adoring nonno of Nickolas, Luca, Alessio, and Mateo. Predeceased by his parents Beniamino and Stella, his sister Santina and granddaughter Angela. Gaetano will be fondly remembered and held dear in the hearts of his many relatives and friends. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at both Lakeridge Oshawa and Markham Stouffville Hospitals for their incredible compassion and care, and to everyone who visited with Gaetano and shared laughter and memories, which helped keep his spirits strong. Visitation will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road) 905-440-3595 on Wednesday, April 15th from 6:00-9:00pm, and on Thursday, April 16th at 10:30am until time of service in the DeStefano Chapel at 12:30pm. Entombment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Road East, Whitby. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
