BROADBENT, Douglas Robert- On March 6, 2015, after a brave fight and with family by his side, Doug went home to be with the Lord. He leaves behind his loving wife Shirley, son Darcy and daughter Tara, daughter-in-law Susanne, beloved dog Spankie, his father Aubrey, brother Richard (Helga) Broadbent, sister Carol (Bill) Weroski, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by mother Evelyn, and grandson Gabriel. The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeridge Health 5G for their excellent care and compassion, and the visitors for the laughter to help keep his spirits strong. Visitation will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home,1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road) 905-440-3595 on Wednesday, March 11th from 7:00-9:00pm and on Thursday, March 12th from 1:00pm until time of service in the DeStefano Chapel at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Doug to the Lung Association. Memories may be shared at www.destefanofuneralhomes.ca
